Training
The
Springfield Employment & Training Center
Providing
employment guidance, training
and placement services to Illinois job seekers.
The
Springfield Illinois Employment Training Center is a joint
effort between the Illinois Department of Employment Security,
the Land Of Lincoln Consortium, and the Sangamon County Department
of Community Resources. Together these agencies provide information,
at no cost, for those individuals currently seeking employment
as well as those exploring career changes. The Center offers
an array of services: everything from unemployment benefits
through retraining. The Center's computer lab allows job seekers
to do resume preparations. Seek for jobs via the World Wide
Web and communicate with other Training Centers nationwide.
The career library provides a complete collection of reference
materials including books, videotapes, and CD-ROMs, books.
Fax machines, copiers, printers and telephones are available
for public use. Counselors and staff on hand are committed
to the clients they serve and are able to help clients cope
with the unexpected changes in the job.
Utilizing federal
employment and training dollars (the old JTPA program), Center
staff verify eligibility, assess for interest and aptitude,
and refer to many training sites. If you are interested in
receiving training, talk to Center staff today.
