Workforce System

WorkforceSystem“We believe that WIOA can help assure that U.S. companies will remain competitive and grow jobs, that our domestic workforce has the guidance and pathways needed to obtain required skills, and that our communities have the workforce development system to remain strong.”
– National Association of Workforce Boards

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) was created to provide state and local areas the flexibility to collaborate across systems in an effort to better address the employment and skills needs of current employees, jobseekers, and employers, according to the NAWB.

Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Land of Lincoln Workforce Alliance to provide employment training and career services to Illinois job seekers.

Strategic Alignment

LLWA has implemented an integrated and aligned sector-based approach to Business Services around the following industries:

  • Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources
  • Architecture and Construction
  • Energy
  • Finance
  • Health Science
  • Information Technology
  • Manufacturing
  • Research and Development
  • Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics

Our approach is driven by demand, businesses, and data regionally to meet the current and future needs of area businesses. We do this by identifying shared human resource issues, exchanging information about industry practices, taking specific actions to address workforce challenges, and sharing, reviewing, and validating labor market needs. By aligning our business partners, workforce development partners, economic development partners, education and training partners, and other community stakeholders, we can make a difference.
