CHANGE IN
ILLINOIS SKILLS MATCH

There has been a major change in the Illinois Skills Match system that affects every person. The Skills section of your registration will no longer be seen by the employer. They will not be able to view your matching and extra skills. The employer will continue to see your education and work history sections. Which brings us to the next point.

Upon review of registrations by the veteran staff it has been noted that many do NOT have adequately or in some cases any JOB DESCRIPTION in the Work History section. This means that if you only have a job title or a couple of unrelated words then that is all the employers will see. Remember, this is what the employer will be making their referral decision on, and if there is NOTHING there, then what can you expect the employer to do? The job description field will accept up to 1000 characters. Please, immediately, ASAP, review your registration look closely at your job descriptions, make sure they are complete, list all skills, duties, jobs preformed, accomplishments, use all 1000 characters in the description.
