Land of Lincoln Workforce Alliance offers free services to employers in the Illinois counties of Cass, Christian, Logan, Menard and Sangamon. Services include:

• Incumbent Worker Training – Provides funding to employers in targeted sectors (Healthcare, Education, Social Assistance, Leisure & Hospitality, Manufacturing, Professional & Business Services, Wholesale Trade, Transportation/Logistics and Construction Trades) to train their current employees on the latest technological developments affecting their industry and to help create and retain jobs in the area.

• On-the-Job Training – Provides the opportunity for the employer to find employees who do not have the experience or skills necessary to perform the job duties, but who could become job ready with additional training. As an incentive to hire workers through the OJT Program, training costs may be reimbursed up to a maximum of 50% of the new hire’s wages. The employer must commit to retaining the new hire as a permanent, full time employee upon successful completion of the training period.

• Rapid Response Services - Provides outplacement services to workers facing layoffs as a result of plant closings or significant reductions in force. A Rapid Response Team can meet with the dislocated workers as a group, and inform them of the various services available to them in the community and to answer any questions they may have.

•Career counseling
•Job Search Assistance
•Resume and Interview preparation
•Unemployment Insurance filing and information
•Information about education and training opportunities
•Information on health benefits and pensions
•Budget and credit counseling
•Veterans’ information and employment programs
